The fantastic flying books of Mr Morris Lessmore

Our Literacy lesson today involved watching a short animated film on the theme of books. After watching a few minutes of the film, we stopped and thought about what might happen next. Children wrote short descriptions based on their own ideas. Their reaction and response to the film was fantastic and many children were highly motivated to write.  If you'd like to watch the film, click here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu0ERprlc6A
Here is Molly's piece of writing:
He walked in, feeling nervous. He kept walking forward until he came to an open door. Walking in, his whole face lit up with excitement. Everywhere there were piles of colourful, bright, new books. He could have done a dance of joy. Books were piled up to the sky. He took another step in.  This time he reached his hand out and ran his finger along the shelf. Then he stopped. A book caught his eye, as if it gave him a wink.  He walked closer and realised something - the book looked a lot like his.
