French Cafe

Children in Class Four took part in our role play of a French Cafe, taking turns to be waiters or waitresses as well as customers. They had previously prepared French menus and phrases which they had already practised in class. They mixed with children in Class Three to help support each other and also enjoyed tasting french cheeses, breads and desserts, while listening to french cafe music.

Rainforest models

Children in Class Four have been making some amazing models for their homework, all connected with their rainforest topic. These are just a few of them. Thank you to all those parents who have helped in the construction of the fantastic rainforest huts and environments, as well as a whole range of other items. I hope you all enjoyed making them.

Year Six photos

Year Six had their special photos taken today, to celebrate their last year at Duddon.  They each brought in something special to show their interests or hobbies and the photo will be a great reminder of their year group.

Visit to the High School

Continuing the events of Science Week, Class Four visited Tarporley High School to discover the excitement of bunsen burners and microscopes in their science labs. They thoroughly enjoyed their morning and represented the school well with their good behaviour, interest and enthusiasm.

Science week

Class Four enjoyed an extra science afternoon today, as they learned about botanist and naturalist David Bellamy and his focus on small creatures and plant life. They spent the afternoon creating a display by making snails and going out into the school environment on a snail hunt. The amount of information they have discovered about snails is amazing.  Great work today!

Art Day

Children in Class Four joined our Art Day today, making 'nature boxes'. They were fantastic at concentrating and getting on with their tasks and should be really proud of the boxes which they made.

Their behaviour was wonderful and they were keen to make friends with the children from Tarvin and Delamere who also attended.

Big Bang

There was lots to see at the NEC  'Big Bang'. Its aim was to excite children about all the possibilities open to them in the field of science, and it certainly did that. From the science shows to the stalls, staffed by professional scientists and developers, the information was interesting and informative, with plenty of hands-on opportunities for the children.
